My Nano’s Kofta Recipe

There is a variety of kofta dishes made of chicken, mutton, and beef and even fish kofta are possible. You need great care while making the kofta balls because you need to bind the meat.

Generally, in kofta recipe, we use the basin, or potatoes to bind the ground mutton or any other kofta. The gravy is also very important to make it carefully without overcooking it because the moderation is a key to the right taste.

If you fry kofta in aliz olive oil, they will give you a healthy dish.

Use all the spices to create a sizzling taste, like green and hot spices. Yogurt is essential along with tomato paste because it helps to make a thick gravy. Cook it at slow heat so all the ingredients get mixed.

What To Add

 For Meat Balls

  • Ground mutton: ½ kg
  • Garam masala: 1 tsp.
  • Red chilies: ½ tsp.
  • Salt to taste
  • Dry coriander:
  • Basin or crushed potato: 2 tbsp.
  • Aliz olive oil: ½ cup

For Gravy

  • Ginger garlic paste: 1 tbsp.
  • Onion paste: 1 cup
  • Tomatoes paste: ½ cup
  • Yogurt: 1 cup
  • Green chili: 2
  • Turmeric: 1 tsp.
  • Dry coriander: 1 tsp.
  • Green coriander to garnish

How to Prepare

  1. Take mutton and mix all the ingredients that are included meatballs list. Mix basin after frying it a little or add raw crushed potato as both elements keep the mutton compacted.
  1. Take a pan, heat oil, add onions and fry till they get brown, add ginger garlic paste, add tomato paste, chili, coriander, turmeric, and yogurt and fry for a few minutes.
  1. Add kofta and fry them till they get brown. You can also fry kofta separately in a pan and then add it to the gravy.
  1. Add 3 cups of water or more and let it boil. Slow down the heat and let it cook till the kofta meat gets tender.
  1. Remove it from the pan and serve by garnishing with green chili and green coriander.
